Before you put another brand in your bio, it\u2019s worth asking what you\u2019re getting, what you\u2019re giving, and whether the arrangement holds up without the status attached to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That question runs through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/TattooArtists\/comments\/1x2tfz7\/how_to_get_real_sponsorships\/\">discussion among tattoo artists<\/a>, where one poster asked how to find sponsorships that offer meaningful benefits. The replies covered convention networking, relationships with brands, discounted supplies, affiliate income, and frustration over promotional work compensated only with products. Look for specifics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fenriscartridges.com\/pages\/join-the-fenris-family-sponsorship\">Fenris Cartridges<\/a> lists product support, a personal discount code, promotion through its channels, and access to its team. Its application asks about convention attendance, existing sponsorships, whether applicants already use its cartridges, and what they can contribute through their work, content, events, or education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The page doesn\u2019t specify product quantities, cash payment, or a required posting schedule. Those details would need to come from the offer itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.madrabbit.com\/pages\/ambassador\">Mad Rabbit\u2019s ambassador program<\/a> describes a different structure: 20% commission when people use an ambassador\u2019s code, a 20% discount, and challenges offering opportunities for products and features. Accepted ambassadors can separately apply for its sponsored-artist program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That distinction matters. Joining an ambassador program isn\u2019t the same as being accepted as a sponsored artist, and commission depends on attributed sales. A box that sits untouched on a shelf does much less for your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start by calculating the expenses the offer would actually remove. Then consider the time involved in creating content, shooting video, making revisions, answering questions, or attending an event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a simple example, a 10% discount on $200 of monthly purchases saves $20. Whether that\u2019s worthwhile depends on what you\u2019re expected to do in return. An occasional mention and several edited videos are very different commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Treat potential exposure separately from guaranteed compensation. Others described convention relationships or working with companies whose products they already used. Those accounts offer useful questions, rather than a reliable formula for securing a deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who follows your work? What do they ask you about? Can you explain why this particular product belongs in your practice?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bring relevant examples and accurate audience information. You should also be able to explain what you want from the relationship. Artwork shown for editorial illustration; no sponsorship relationship is implied.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GET THE EXPECTATIONS IN WRITING<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before accepting, ask for clear answers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What products, payments, or discounts are guaranteed?<\/li><li>What content or appearances are required, and how often?<\/li><li>Can the brand reuse your photos or videos, including in advertising?<\/li><li>Are there restrictions on using or mentioning other brands?<\/li><li>How are commissions tracked, paid, and adjusted for returns?<\/li><li>How long does the arrangement last, and how can either side end it?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are questions to ask about an offer, not claims about the obligations in the programs above. Public recruitment pages rarely answer everything an artist needs to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disclosure belongs in that conversation, too. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/business-guidance\/resources\/disclosures-101-social-media-influencers\">FTC guidance<\/a> says material brand relationships should be disclosed clearly, including when an artist receives free or discounted products. Receiving products instead of cash doesn\u2019t remove that responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A worthwhile sponsorship should be easy to explain in practical terms: what it helps you do, what it costs you in time and restrictions, and why you\u2019re comfortable recommending the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your work gives the relationship value.
